The sole representative of Caterpillar, BMW, Rover and Land Rover in Turkey, Borusan Group offers world quality service. The group forefronted sectoral segmentation based organisational structuring in earth moving equipments, as well as round-the-clock automotive servicing, in the domestic market. These and other pioneering Borusan initiatives have provided the driving force for extensive customer satisfaction efforts in the sector.
A sales target of 3,000 vehicles was set for the BMW Group brands BMW and MINI at the beginning of 2002. Despite a contracting domestic market, Borusan Otomotiv not only exceeded its sales target but succeeded in tripling its sales volume and raising its market share to 3.7%. Borusan otomotiv doubled its share in the automobile market with Land Rover brand.
In 2001 two new companies, Otomax and Oto Exchange, were founded to introduce multi-brand, multi-channel "Progressive Automotive Distributorship" in Turkey. The concept involves full-scale service from automotive marketing to loan procurement, insurance and maintenance - all offered from a single source.
Caterpillar compact machines were launched in Turkey in 2000 simultaneously with the rest of the global market. Borusan is Caterpillar's sole authorised representative in Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azarbaijan and Georgia. With the development of the Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan pipeline major investments in the region will be taking place in 2003.
