Borusan Elektronik Motolu Araçlar Açık Artırma Ticareti, İletişim ve Bilgi Hizmetleri A.Ş launched the Otomax brand in 2001.

Otomax is Turkey's first automotive reference website, offering prospective buyers who are looking for new or secondhand cars, online, and offline meeting points where they can reach automotive producers, authorised dealers, importers and distributors, as well as car loan providers and insurance companies all at one go. Otomax pioneered to the formation of a new automotive trading platform through its web page and magazine. This multichannel, multibranded network system changed the dynamics of the Turkish Automotive Sector.

Otomax was set up as a communication channel for automotive buyers and suppliers on the web. Now it is an online, and offline intermediary; rather than carrying out direct transactions, it serves as a trade and information platform.

The Otomax database welcomes participation from all automotive producers and categories, and carefully maintains impartiality towards all brands.

Otomax's services consist of two main systems:

1. MULTI-CHANNEL, MULTI-BRANDED REFERENCE SYSTEM

Through its web site and weekly magazine, the Otomax Reference System  aims to provide a platform that the prospective automobile buyers and sellers can  communicate and share information as well as trading new and secondhand cars.

DEALER TO CUSTOMER REFERENCE SYSTEM

Allows prospective buyers to purchase new or secondhand cars by getting in touch with automotive dealers. Customers, interested in a new or secondhand car that they find on Otomax, are invited to fill out a non-binding application form. Otomax passes this form on to the dealer who owns that car. As dictated by the membership agreement, the dealer calls the customer within 8 hours of receiving the application to arrange a meeting.

Otomax is not involved in subsequent transactions between the customer and the dealer.

DEALER TO DEALER REFERENCE SYSTEM

Similar to the Dealer to Customer reference system; it is a database exclusive to Otomax member dealers. It helps members sift through one another's stocks and make an offer for any car they feel they might be better placed to sellin their premises; and it provides a unique solution to members' supply and stock optimization problems.  The Dealer to Dealer reference system is open to fleet dealers and car renting companies as well.

CUSTOMER TO CUSTOMER REFERENCE SYSTEM

This is a database for customers who want to sell their cars on the secondhand market. The customer puts in the specifications of his or her car in an application form to place an free classified ad on the web page or a paid picture ad on both the web page and the magazine. Otomax validates the form, and gives the customer a reference number as well as an information about time span that the ad will be on.

Customers can reapply for a second run of their ads when the time limit is up.

LOAN AND INSURANCE REFERENCE SYSTEM

Offers customers a choice of finance institutions and insurance companies with special Otomax rates. Once customers decide to buy a car over Otomax, they can use this system to learn about the various loan or insurance products and services of member companies; compare options, and make online applications. Otomax is not involved in subsequent transactions. 

2. AUCTION

The Auction System aims to create a platform to the prospective sellers to sell their automobiles through auction. The auction takes place twice a month and all brands of automobiles and light commercial vehicles can be sold through the system. Even though every corporation and rent a car companies are welcomed to sell their automobiles through the system, only Otomax Auction Members, who are secondhand car traders, can participate in the purchasing end.
