Borusan Children's Choir
Growing up with an appreciation of the arts
The Borusan Children’s Choir
It is a historical fact that, children’s choirs have had a profound impact throughout the world in the inspiration and training of musical artists. Moreover, a musician’s first love for music is birthed through participation in choirs. Also, children’s choirs have always played an important role in the development of the cultural and artistic life of any society and serve to bring great joy and pleasure to people everywhere. It is for these reasons that the Borusan Children’s Choir was established.
The Borusan Children’s Choir was formed in November, 2002, with the conductor Gülsen Yavuzkal and the pianist Hande Yusumut; made up of 40 children of 8-14 years old. The choir, while singing various children songs from all over the world, also performs with the piano and the Quartet.
The Choir, having the students of Beyoğlu Okçu Musa Elementary School, gives six concerts per year including national and New Year’s celebrations, elementary school concerts, children’s festivals and other private activities. In 2010, with the opening of the Borusan Music House, the choir is able to reach wider masses through more concerts.
