The Borusan Chamber Orchestra
One of Turkey’s very first private orchestras, the Borusan Chamber Orchestra was established in 1993 under the supervision of Saim Akçıl. This became the Borusan Group’s first venture into the fields of culture and arts.
The Borusan Chamber Orchestra maintains a dynamic staff from 25-30 to 45-50 artists, according to the program of the concerts and mainly consisting of the Borusan Philharmonic Orchestra members. During the 2006–2007 concert seasons, the Borusan Chamber Orchestra gave performances under the direction of Joseph Wolfe at both the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall as well as at the Caddebostan Culture Center. In 2008, the Orchestra performed at the 35th International Istanbul Music Festival, also with Joseph Wolfe as the conductor. Gürer Aykal, Vasil Kazanciyev, Emre Aracı, Michael Nebe, and Alpaslan Ertüngealp are some of the conductors who took the stage with the orchestra.
The orchestra, which has four CD recordings with worldwide famous soloists, also worked with Aydın Karlıbel, Günay Yetiz, Pelin Halkacı, Cihat Aşkın, and Jeremy Menuhin.
