The International Istanbul Music Festival
Since the beginning of the International Istanbul Music Festival, Borusan Holding has been one of its biggest supporters and the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra has served as the event’s official orchestra since 2003. In 2006, in order to foster a greater appreciation for classical music among the masses, Borusan embraced the role of the Festival’s primary sponsor for ten years.
The aim of Borusan in the sponsorship can be considered as a step towards stimulating interest in the festival and helping classical music to be assimilated into every phase of society. With that goal, Borusan launched various innovative projects along with the festival. In 2008, Borusan used the power of caricature arts to raise an interest for the festival as well as worked in cooperation with 1-3 year old children for the festival campaign of 2009, underlining the significant effect of classical music on children’s intelligence and character development.
