Milestones
1944
Borusan Group's first company, İstikbal Ticaret, was founded and commenced its operations in the iron-steel trade and exportation of agricultural products.
1958
The first industrial venture was performed with the establishment of Borusan Boru Sanayi A.Ş.
1960
Kerim Çelik was put into operation as Borusan's initial investment in the steel industry.
1968
Borusan Boru’s 4 thousand square meter plant in Sefaköy was relocated to the new 58 thousand square meter modern facility in Halkalı.
1969
Borusan Boru exported first batch of goods having a value of USD 100,000 to Syria.

Borusan Mühendislik, one of Turkey’s leading heavy-duty machinery manufacturer, was founded.
1970
Supsan was founded Sefaköy, Istanbul as a manufacturer of engine valves, which are among sensitive components of internal combustion engines, and valve accessories.
1972
Borusan Holding was founded and all Borusan companies were brought together under the roof of Holding.
1973
Originally founded for engagement in road transport, Boru Nakliyat began to provide customs clearance, port operations and warehousing services as from 1983.
1974
Supsan commenced manufacturing under the license of the U.S. based Eaton S.r.L.
1975
Borusan Boru established a plant in Gemlik.
1977
Borusan Yatırım was founded. The Company joined major Borusan companies which have been operating in steel, distributorship and integrated logistics industries up to the present.
1983
Borusan established its first port in Gemlik.
1984
Borusan Oto assumed the role of Turkish distributor of BMW AG.
1989
Bortrans, which was primarily engaged in various businesses - particularly chartering, port operations and marine transport - was founded.
1990
Borçelik was founded as the first cold rolled steel sheet manufacturer in the private industry of Turkey and Borçelik commenced its operations in 1994.
1992
The Asım Kocabıyık Culture and Education Foundation was founded by Asım Kocabıyık and his family.
1993
The Borusan Chamber Orchestra was founded.
1994
Borusan Makina was put into operation.
1996
Borusan Yatırım went public.
1997
Borusan Makina assumed the role of Caterpillar's agent in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
1998
Borusan Oto became the Turkish agent of Land Rover. For the purposes of the joint venture with Mannesmannröhen Werke AG, Borusan Mannesmann Boru Yatırım A.Ş. was founded.
1999
The Borusan Chamber Orchestra was transformed into a philharmonic orchestra.
2000
Borusan Lojistik was founded. The company put its second port into service in Gemlik with an investment of 18 million dollars.
2001
Borusan Mannesmann Boru acquired the Italy based Structo Vobarno plant. Borçelik invested 140 million dollars for the capacity increase and galvanized steel sheet plant in cooperation with its French partner ArcelorMittal.
2006
Borçelik’s second hot-dip galvanizing line, GALVA 2, was put into operation as a part of the modernization investment. Borusan Holding signed the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, consisting of 10 articles on human rights, labor standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
2007
Borusan Holding stepped into the energy industry by acquiring 70% of the shares belonging to Maya Enerji.
2008
Otomax joined forces with Manheim (USA), the world's leader of the second-hand car market.
2009
Borusan Holding and Germany's third largest energy corporation EnBW AG decided to establish a joint venture.

Borusan Holding became one of the first three corporations from Turkey as the signatory to the Cancún Declaration against global warming. In order to encourage women’s entrepreneurship, Afyonkarahisar Asım Kocabıyık Microfinance Branch was opened.
2010
Borusan Holding joined the "World Business Council for Sustainable Development” as the second member from Turkey.
2011
Borusan Holding’s Head Office in Rumeli Hisarı, Perili Köşk, was converted into an office-museum as the first office-museum of contemporary art in Turkey under the name of 'Borusan Contemporary'.
2012
Borusan Lojistik acquired Balnak Lojistik in whole and became the leader in its sector.

The pipe manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 250 thousand tons, which was established by Borusan Mannesmann in Gemlik, commenced its operations. The Corporation decided to establish a pipe manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 300 thousand tons in USA with an investment of 150 million dollars. Borusan Holding signed the United Nations Women Empowerment Principles and therefore pledged to support women's empowerment.

Borusan EnBW Enerji achieved portfolio size of 700 MW in total.
2012
Mr. Asım Kocabıyık, the Founder and Honorary Chairman of Borusan Holding, passed away.
2013
In tandem with the Ministry of Family and Social Policies and the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Borusan launched a corporate social responsibility project called “My Mom’s Job Is My Future." with intent to encourage women's in Turkey.

Afyonkarahisar Asım Kocabıyık Microfinance Branch was opened with a view to encourage women's entrepreneurship.

Having taken a huge step towards globalization, Borusan Mannesmann laid the foundations of its steel pipe plant to be built in USA with an investment of 150 million dollars.
2014
Borusan Group celebrated its 70th Anniversary.

Borusan Mannesmann inaugurated the plant established in Houston with an investment of 150 million dollars.

Under the scope of the project “My Mom's Job Is My Future”, Borusan Joy Factories were launched in Adıyaman and Afyonkarahisar.

The Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra became the one and only orchestra from Turkey that was invited to BBC Proms, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in the world. 6,000 thousand classical music lovers attended the concert held in 29 July.
2015
Borusan Group acquired a new CAT distributorship in Far East Russia and expanded its international presence up to 11 countries in 3 continent.

Bukoli, an innovation brand of Borusan, was launched for the provision of special delivery service in the e-commerce industry.
